Job Title: Second Shift Machine Operator
Location: Wytheville, Virginia
Shift: Second Shift (Typically 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, with overtime as needed)

Position Summary

The Second Shift Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of automotive components. This position supports production goals by following standardized work procedures, maintaining equipment performance, and upholding quality and safety standards throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor assigned production machines according to established procedures
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production schedules
• Inspect parts and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic preventive maintenance
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and escalate complex problems to maintenance or supervision
• Maintain accurate production and quality records
• Ensure work area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
• Meet or exceed daily production targets and efficiency standards
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and incoming/outgoing shifts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to read measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
