1st Shift Millwright Trainee

Salary: up to $25/hr

A family-owned company in the North Vernon area is looking for a motivated individual that is mechanically inclined. The company is hiring immediately! 

 

Millwright Trainee's Pay/Benefits:

• Up to $25/hr based on experience
• Once hired on, the company offers competitive benefits 

Schedule: 

• 1st shift, Monday – Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM, overtime as needed
• Travel will eventually be required in this role, but only after the trainee is fully trained and independently capable of performing millwright duties.

 

Company Info/Job Duties:

• Assist with the repair or replacement of defective parts such as bearings, motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Learn to disassemble equipment for repair and reassemble components accurately.
• Associate will learning alongside tenured employees how to complete the job.
• Very hands on work in a machine shop setting.
• Assist in the installation, alignment, and setup of industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
• Help perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, adjustments, and inspections.
• Support senior millwrights in diagnosing mechanical issues and executing repairs.

Requirements:

• Must be able to do math and work with fractions and decimals
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in industrial maintenance.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor in a manufacturing environment.
• Comfortable working at a slower pace as the projects take weeks to complete
• Familiarity with tools, machinery, or industrial environments.
• Prior experience in mechanics, construction, maintenance, or related hands-on work preferred.
