Safety Technician

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Safety Technician for a manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe workplace by identifying potential hazards, supporting safety initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Position Summary

The Safety Technician assists in promoting and maintaining a safe working environment by conducting inspections, supporting safety programs, monitoring PPE compliance, providing training support, and maintaining accurate safety records. This role works closely with employees and leadership to reinforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor production floor to ensure safe work practices and PPE compliance

  • Assist with first aid response and maintain injury/illness logs

  • Support onboarding and employee safety training

  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments

  • Inspect and maintain safety equipment and signage

  • Maintain accurate safety records and perform data entry

  • Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks

  • Follow up on workplace injuries and support related processes

  • Maintain confidentiality and complete other duties as assigned

Schedule

  • Must be available to work various shifts as needed

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Safety and Health or a related field

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and compliance standards

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to employees at all levels

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience with SAP is a plus

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
