Position Overview

 

The production worker may work in a variety of areas depending on the needs of the production department.

 

Essential Functions

 

• Operates equipment that melts and coats product to enrobe/cover it
• Observes emerging product to ensure adequate coating and shape is correct
• Checks product weight for accuracy
• Clean and sanitize utensils, equipment and work area daily
• Pack gift boxes, verifying weight of chocolate that goes in each box
• Weigh candy ensuring accuracy
• Check weight of candy to ensure proper size.
• Inspect candy for adequate coating and shape
• Pack candy
• Pack box with product
• Apply appropriate label and UPC to product
• Transfer product to shipping
• Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Supervision

 

Supervision is provided by the Production Lead, Production Supervisor or the Production Manager as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Skills

 

Education:  High school graduate or equivalent.

 

Experience:  Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.  Food manufacturing experience is a plus. 

 

Skills:  Ability to read, write, follow and understand instructions is required. 

 

Working Hours and Environment

 

Normal production hours are 1^st shift 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 pm. And 2^nd shift 4:00 pm and 12:30 am Monday through Thursday, however hours will vary according to production schedules.  Department hours are set by the Chief Operating Officer.  This position requires standing, walking and lifting 100% of the work day.  Must be able to lift up to 40+ lbs.
