JOB PURPOSE

 

The Inventory Analyst plays a key role in maintaining accurate and efficient inventory control. This position focuses on analyzing inventory levels and identifying opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and turnover. The ideal candidate combines analytical expertise, inventory reconciliation, process improvement and ERP management.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor daily inventory reports, ERP data, reconcile discrepancies from inventory counts and ensure data integrity.
  • Track inventory across multiple warehouse zones and ensure data accuracy for all titles, editions, and product formats.
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete titles and collaborate with management to appropriate actions such as returns or markdowns.
  • Prepare detailed inventory reports, including aging inventory, stock discrepancies, and KPI results.
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of cycle counts and full physical inventories to achieve high accuracy standards.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and analytical tools to monitor key inventory metrics and trends.
  • Support catalog updates, data integrity audits, and new title setup to ensure proper system tracking and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Data Analytics or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu or a degree
  • 2–4 years of experience in inventory analysis.
  • Experience in warehouse or inventory management, preferably in retail or wholesale distribution.
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) as required.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing work environments.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with warehouse, procurement, and sales teams.
  • Clear communication skills for presenting data-driven recommendations to management.

Work Environment: Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures. Frequent standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Use of warehouse equipment and machinery.
