Project Estimator

 

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Project Estimator to support the construction bid process by preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates. This role involves analyzing project documents, coordinating with project managers and subcontractors, and ensuring cost-effective project planning. The Estimator will work primarily in an office environment with occasional site visits as needed to gather project information.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, evaluate, and prepare detailed cost estimates during the construction bid process
• Review and analyze blueprints, plans, specifications, and construction documents to fully understand project scope
• Develop project estimates with attention to specialty trade scopes such as finish carpentry, doors and frames, bathroom specialties, postal specialties, and similar trades
• Estimate time, labor, materials, and product costs to determine total project cost
• Prepare written proposals, budgets, cost estimates, and updates for clients and project managers
• Coordinate with project managers to oversee vendors and subcontractors during the bid process
• Distribute drawings and specifications to subcontractors prior to bidding
• Communicate project requirements, assumptions, and cost details clearly to internal teams and clients
• Visit construction sites as needed to obtain project-specific information

Schedule & Pay:

• Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00AM – 3:30PM

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of construction estimating experience on large-scale Institutional, Multifamily, Hospitality, commercial, or residential projects
• Strong ability to interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications and develop detailed, accurate cost estimates
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with estimating and project management software (Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, StackCT, Esticom, On-Screen Takeoff) is a plus
• Excellent analytical, communication, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
