Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Direct Hire
Dayton, Ohio Area

A growing Dayton-area manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Senior Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the technical leader of a small, fast-paced production operation. This is a high-impact, non-hybrid role reporting directly to the President and ideal for someone who thrives on the shop floor while driving long-term process and quality improvements.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead daily resolution of production issues across machining, welding, stamping, and assembly

• Drive root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, FMEA, SPC) and implement lasting corrective actions

• Reduce scrap, improve process capability, and champion continuous improvement initiatives

• Support automation projects from concept through vendor coordination and implementation

• Own quality systems, documentation, KPIs, audits, PPAP/FAI submissions, and customer/supplier quality communication

• Oversee quality and maintenance technicians and promote a culture of accountability and performance

What We’re Looking For:

• 10+ years in manufacturing engineering or technical production support

• Strong hands-on knowledge of machining, welding, and stamping (direct experience preferred)

• Deep knowledge of ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, MSA, and structured problem-solving tools

• Ability to balance floor-level troubleshooting with strategic process improvements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (equivalent experience considered)

Compensation & Benefits:

• $80,000–$120,000 base salary

• 10–20% performance bonus

• Flexible schedule (4 or 5-day workweek options, 45+ hours typical)
