Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a Night Shift Packing Operator!

Position Summary: The Packaging Operator works on the production floor and is responsible for making sure finished product is packaged correctly, safely, and meets quality standards. This role monitors up to two packaging machines at a time, checks product quality, and keeps the work area clean and safe. You’ll work closely with a Supervisor and other team members to keep production running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor up to two packaging machines at a time
• Make sure products are packaged correctly, labeled properly, and meet quality standards
• Perform routine quality checks, including verifying code dates and basic product testing
• Keep accurate written and electronic records
• Clean and sanitize equipment and surrounding work areas
• Watch equipment for issues and report maintenance needs to a Supervisor
• Help troubleshoot equipment or process problems when they arise
• Follow all safety, food safety, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines
• Cross-train in other areas and help in different departments as needed
• Safely operate a forklift (certification required)

Qualifications:

• High school diploma OR at least 3 years of experience in a similar manufacturing or packaging role
• Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when unsure
• Basic mechanical skills and problem-solving ability
• Comfortable working around machinery in a manufacturing environment
• Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing)
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly
• Team-oriented but able to work independently
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 60 lbs occasionally
• Willingness to become forklift certified
• Manufacturing or packaging experience preferred

Hours:

• 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Rotating schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, then 3 days on, continuing rotation)

Pay:

• $21.00/hour
