Position 1 — Diesel Mechanic (Heavy Equipment / Mining Support)
Location: Detroit, MI
Position Overview
This role focuses on maintaining and repairing heavy diesel and mining equipment including dozers, loaders, and excavators. Candidates must be comfortable diagnosing complex electrical and engine systems in an industrial environment.
Technical Focus

DPS system knowledge required

Tier 4 engine expertise

ET system electrical fault diagnostics & troubleshooting

Heavy equipment experience: John Deere, CAT, loaders, dozers, excavators
-
No fleet-only work — equipment focused
Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and major repairs on heavy diesel equipment

Diagnose engine failures and system issues
-
Repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
-
Maintain Tier 4 engines and DPF systems
-
Ensure machinery runs at peak performance and safety standards
Requirements
-
High school diploma or GED
-
2–4 years mining or industrial shop experience
-
2–4 years heavy equipment mechanic experience
-
Michigan mechanic certification required (diesel, electrical, hydraulic, etc.)

Experience with lifting devices and pneumatic tools
-
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Position 2 — Diesel Mechanic (Over-the-Road / Semi & Haulers)
Location: Luna Pier, MI
Position Overview
Support maintenance and repair of over-the-road trucks, semis, and haulers. This role is focused on diagnostics, PMs, and keeping transport equipment operational and compliant.
Key Responsibilities

Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and after-treatment issues
-
Perform preventative maintenance (PMs)
-
Troubleshoot engine and emissions systems
-
Conduct small fabrication repairs
-
Perform welding as needed (preferred, not required)
Requirements
-
Diesel mechanic experience with semi/hauler equipment
-
Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical & electrical systems
-
After-treatment/emissions system experience preferred
-
Welding skills a plus
