Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a Sanitation Operator!

Position Summary: The Sanitation Operator plays an important role in keeping the facility clean, safe, and ready for food production. This position focuses heavily on cleaning and maintaining floor drains, production areas, and equipment to ensure the plant meets food safety and sanitation standards. You will work with cleaning tools, chemicals, and sanitation equipment daily. Attention to detail is critical, as this role directly impacts product quality and workplace safety. The Sanitation Operator reports to the Sanitation Engineer and may receive additional direction from Quality or other leadership team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize floor drains, production equipment, walls, floors, and other assigned areas
• Follow a detailed Master Sanitation Schedule to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed on time
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and according to instructions
• Take apart and reassemble equipment as needed for deep cleaning
• Identify and report equipment issues, leaks, or maintenance concerns to a supervisor
• Ensure all work areas remain clean, organized, and inspection-ready
• Follow all plant safety rules, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and food safety guidelines
• Work cooperatively with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors
• Complete other cleaning or sanitation tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma OR at least 3 years of experience in a similar sanitation or industrial cleaning role
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
• Comfortable working around food production equipment and cleaning chemicals
• Ability to lift, bend, stand, and move throughout the shift
• Strong attention to detail and ability to notice issues before they become problems
• Reliable attendance and strong sense of responsibility
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Hours:

• Monday – Friday
• 8 Hour Shifts
• Start Time Varies Between 7am and 8am

Pay:

• $20.00/hour
