Shop Assistant

Salary: $20.00 to $25.00

Join a dynamic team in Greely! Our exclusive client, a custom home builder with a shop located in Greely, is seeking a Shop Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. If you have a knack for woodworking and precision, and experience with machinery like saws, sanders, and other power tools, we want to hear from you!

Required skills and qualifications: 

• Experience using basic hand and power tools is required
• Experience using various saws and woodworking tools is a definite asset
• Cabinet making, carpentry, or woodworking certificate are strong assets
• Natural desire to learn construction trades related to carpentry
• Strong English communication and the ability to follow instructions carefully
• Strong measurement skills (imperial and metric)
• Great team player who’s eager to help in the shop where needed
• Keen eye for detail
• Self-starter who takes initiative and contributes to overall productivity
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs on a regular basis

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Being part of team for custom millwork fabrication (cabinetry)
• Measuring and cutting various types of wood products and parts to specifications
• Feeding materials into machines for production
• Offloading and inspecting finished parts and products to ensure quality standards are met
• Sanding parts using an orbital sander
• Applying enamel paint to cabinet parts using a sprayer
• Assembling cabinets primarily using a power drill
• Applying cabinetry edging with an edge-banding machine
• Other duties as assigned  

The wage for this position starts between $20.00 to $25.00 per hour. 

Monday to Friday – 7:00am to 3:00pm
