Location: Texarkana, TX

Hours: M-F 8a-5p

Pay: $16/hour

The specialist assists with the implementation of procedures and processes necessary information to identify eligible individual’s indigent medication benefits.  Request, receive and distribute medication from Genoa.  Performs functions necessary to order, receive, distribute and reconcile inventory of pharmaceutical company funded medications.

 

Experience/Knowledge: 

Requires advanced organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Requires advanced oral and written communication skills.  Requires experience in project development and management.  Knowledge of basic business administration principles.  Demonstrates aptitude for logical and deliberate problem solving and decision making. 

Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access software applications.

Computer data entry experience/emphasizing speed and accuracy. 

 

Job Duties:

• Works with units and independently to identify persons eligible for MAP
• Work with the consumer in the initial process and obtain all necessary signatures including physicians.
• Enter all information into indigent medication database.

• Each subsequent prescription is a renewal and each change or new prescription requires a new application process.

• Receives, reviews, copies and mails all applications
• Log, enter and tracks reorders.
• Monitor for expiration dates and notify nursing staff for proper disposal

• All received medication must be labeled following current Center guidelines.

• Ensure that medications are ordered and received from Genoa pharmacy. Ensures that medications are available for clients.

• Accepts duties consistent with education, experience and job description.
