We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Extruder Operator.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining plastics extrusion equipment to produce high-quality plastic products.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and experience in manufacturing environments.

Duties

  • Set up, operate, and monitor plastics extrusion machinery to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Adjust machine parameters based on specifications, utilizing PLC controls for precise operation.
  • Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify product dimensions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on extrusion equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Handle materials safely and efficiently, including materials handling and fabrication tasks.
  • Utilize hand tools and press brake machines for auxiliary fabrication or assembly tasks as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including process parameters, inspection results, and equipment logs.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
  • Operate forklifts safely for materials movement within the warehouse or production area.
  • Collaborate with team members in plastics blow molding, injection molding, or machining processes to ensure seamless production flow.

Experience

  • Prior experience operating plastics extrusion machinery is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of plastics blow molding, injection molding, CNC machining, and CNC lathe operations is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine automation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with understanding of fabrication techniques and materials handling.
  • Experience in quality inspection using precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Background in manufacturing environments with exposure to lean manufacturing principles.
  • Warehouse experience including forklift operation is beneficial.
  • Basic math skills necessary for measuring and calculating dimensions or process adjustments.
