About the Opportunity
This temp-to-hire role supports multiple metal fabrication facilities across St. Charles County. These companies are hiring for both entry-level operators and advanced setup/programming-level press brake technicians. Candidates must be able to read blueprints and demonstrate mechanical aptitude. Experience with CNC press brake controls (Amada, Cincinnati, Bystronic, Accurpress, etc.) is highly valued.
What You’ll Do
- Operate CNC press brakes to bend, form, and shape metal components
- Read and interpret blueprints, bend deductions, flat patterns, and fabrication drawings
- Set up tooling, adjust back gauges, and verify machine parameters (for advanced roles)
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and required tolerances
- Perform basic machine maintenance and keep work areas clean and safe
- Use calipers, micrometers, protractors, and other measurement tools
- Work closely with production, fabrication, and quality teams
- Support general fabrication tasks as needed
What You Bring
- Experience in metal fabrication or mechanical aptitude (entry-level and higher)
- Ability to read and understand shop drawings and part measurements
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical shop tasks
- Advanced operators should have setup experience, tooling knowledge, and CNC control familiarity
Nice-to-Haves
- Prior experience with Amada, Cincinnati, Accurpress, or Bystronic press brakes
- Ability to perform full setups and adjust tooling independently
- Experience using precision measuring tools
- Knowledge of bend allowances, offsets, and fabrication math

- Pay
- Entry-Level Operators: Earn up to $22/hr depending on skill and machine competence
