Job Title: Grow Technician

 

Job Summary: Full-time position Grow Technician located in Springfield, Illinois. This position is responsible in assisting in overseeing plant care and growth.

 

Salary Range: $35,000 - $42,000 / year

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transplanting plants.
  • Ensure plant health by watering, feeding, topping, trimming, according to policy, as well as any other tasks required.
  • Harvesting plants.
  • Aiding in maintaining established quality metrics during growing processes. As well as reporting all quality control issues during these activities immediately.
  • Perform all assigned duties required to ensure a clean and safe cGMP environment, including the proper disposal of waste.
  • Assist in tracking plants from beginning to harvest by ensuring proper and accurate documentation for applicable activities.
  • Participate in cross training opportunities to minimally learn the least-skilled position in the other areas of operations and substitute as business needs dictate in those positions.

 

Working Environment:

  • Uneven surfaces, stand/sit for long periods of time, bending/stooping, or hard surfaces.
  • Required to wear PPE.
  • Operation of mobile elevated work platforms as well as forklifts.
  • Lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Good Agricultural Practices knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Working in a cultivation environment, which can include no natural light, varying temperatures, and louder than normal ambient noise.
  • Working in a manufacturing environment near machinery and processes, which require specific training and safety protocols.
  • Occasional required overtime.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Age: 21 years of age

Education: High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field OR industry-recognized training or education in a related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and have the ability to contribute overall product development and production optimization.
  • Good Agricultural Practices knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, depending on the location.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
