We have been asked by a client in Carmel, IN to help them find two Construction Assistants. In this role you will support the construction manager and customer care manager with job-site tasks, cleanup, material handling, equipment operation, and general construction support across residential building projects.

 

Pay, Hours, and Benefits

• Pay: $18.00 per hour
• Hours/Shift: Full-time, Monday–Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm, with occasional variations based on project needs
• This is a Temp-to-Hire Job Opportunity

What will you do as a Construction Assistant?

• Assist the construction manager with punch lists
• Assist the customer care manager with 30-day and 1-year customer care checkups
• Complete general tasks as assigned by the construction manager
• Load and unload construction materials
• Lift heavy loads up to 50 lbs. and perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, walking, stooping, and handling materials
• Operate and care for construction equipment such as power washers, generators, and ladders
• Assist with occasional digging of holes or trenches for job-site preparation
• Maintain a clean job site by picking up debris, tools, and equipment
• Maintain and clean the work truck

What qualifications will you have as a Construction Assistant?

• High school diploma or GED required
• Knowledge of residential home construction preferred but not required
• Must be handy with tools and able to use basic construction equipment
• Reliable transportation - you will meet at construction sites
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
• Ability to perform physical labor and strenuous tasks
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision; punctual and reliable
