Position Summary

As Human Resources Director, you will work to integrate The Ben’s Hope Way throughout the day-to-day experience of our staff and residents by serving as the steward of workforce strategy, regulatory compliance, organizational culture, and accountability systems within a specialized residential licensed Adult Foster Care system. This role ensures staffing structures, leadership formation, compliance systems, and workforce sustainability align with mission, public funding requirements, and legal obligations.

The HR Director is responsible for performance reviews, corrective action plans, compensation structures, investigations, and terminations. While certain HR functions may be executed operationally, the HR Director retains ultimate accountability for workforce integrity, risk mitigation, and cultural health.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Director Responsibilities:

  • Lead workforce planning, compensation strategy, and labor forecasting in partnership with Finance and executive team
  • Ensure compliance with employment law, Michigan licensing requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Oversee investigations, employee relations, terminations, and high-risk personnel decisions
  • Direct performance management processes, corrective action oversight, and leadership development
  • Design and maintain compensation structures, wage bands, and internal pay equity
  • Monitor turnover, retention trends, scheduling integrity, and workforce sustainability
  • Own and update HR policies, onboarding processes, and employee retention strategies
  • Advise Executive Leadership on organizational health, culture, and risk

Schedule & Pay

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday on site
  • Pay: Competitive and based on experience

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Social Services, or related field required
  • 3-5+ years of HR leadership experience in regulated healthcare or social service environments
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, investigations, and compensation strategy
  • Experience with workforce planning, performance management systems, and policy development
  • Demonstrated commitment to a Christian faith and life worldview

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Adult Foster Care or Medicaid-funded systems
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
  • Experience in mission-driven or faith-based organizations
