Process Engineer

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Process Engineer with experience in ceramics in Maryville TN

 Responsibilities will include:

 

• Test and refine processes for producing silicon carbide Igniters (e.g., powders, grains, or finished products.
• Provide production process ownership. Minimize variation and provide structured problem solving in the form of Root Cause Analysis and Experiments.
• Optimize reaction conditions, such as temperature, pressure, and gas flow, for processes like carbothermal reduction or sintering.
• Implement Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Work with the plant manager in Monitoring and maintain production equipment like furnaces and calciners. Agers.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment failures and minimize downtime.
• Develop and work with the quality manager on assurance protocols to ensure the produced silicon carbide meets specifications (e.g., purity, particle size, density).
• Analyze data from quality tests (e.g., XRD, SEM, or BET surface area measurements) and identify process improvements.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data from production lines to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to management or stakeholders.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to test new materials, methods, or equipment for silicon carbide production.
• Investigate alternative processes (e.g., additive manufacturing, advanced sintering techniques) for better performance or cost-effectiveness.
• Work closely with production operators, technicians, and quality teams to implement process changes.
• Coordinate with suppliers for raw materials, such as high-purity silicon or graphite.
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising product quality.
• Monitor the consumption of energy and raw materials to ensure efficient use.

 

Salary will range depending on experience
