Purpose of Job

·         Performs managerial/supervisory activities when Store Manager is out of the store or by assignment, to include the following:

·         Ensures store is opened and closed in a timely manner

·         Prepares daily and other periodic reports and reconciliations such as deposits, cash recaps, inventory, etc.

·         Oversees and coordinates placing inventory orders

·         Promotes and ensures a safe workplace

·         Orients, directs, trains, and retains top talent

 

·         Makes recommendations in various personnel matters such as pay, performance reviews, and terminations

·         Responsible for the management of Store Associates

 

Drives Sales:

·         Actively engages retail and commercial customers with open-ended questions to determine their needs and offer the best solution

·         Suggests related solutions and items of interest to the customer

·         Motivates and trains team members to maximize sales/service opportunities

·         Set and achieve personal goals related to store sales and profit

·         Build battery packs, test, analyze, and diagnose battery problems

·         Installs all types of batteries for customers, such as car batteries, watch and key fob, etc.

Operations:

·         Understands and drives store operating goals daily

·         Drives sound inventory management practices

·         Exhibits a commitment to punctual and regular attendance for all assigned shifts

·         Makes a strong contribution to the store A/R Management process

·         Helps facilitate an effective and efficient delivery program

·         Participates in cleaning activities such as floors, windows, displays, parking lot, etc.

·         Understands and follows all operational policies and procedures relating to cash handling, safety and security, and other store related matters

·         Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

·         Must have exceptional customer service aptitude, and excellent interpersonal skills

·         Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor

·         Excellent verbal and written communications skills

·         Ability to maintain a neat and clean appearance

·         Strength in contributing to a positive team environment

·         Demonstrated managerial/supervisory skills

·         Minimum two years of experience in retail store operations

·         Math and bookkeeping skills acquired through high school or trade education and/or experience

·         Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

·         Ability to use calculator, measuring instruments, a personal computer and a POS system

·         Ability to acquire technical skills needed for rebuilding battery packs or repairing electronic devices

·         Knowledge of and experience with batteries and battery applications is beneficial

·         Valid driver's license is

 

Scope Data:

·         Reports to the Store Manager; Interacts with sales employees, store associates, retail and commercial customers and prospects, delivery recipients, and other people common to a retail environment

·         90-day initial review; annual review thereafter.

·         Handles financial transactions and cash; responsible for some store paperwork.

Work Environment (List all relevant physical data required to perform the job, i.e. lifting, pushing, pulling, frequent standing, driving, etc. - be as specific and quantifiable as possible regarding time, weights, etc.):

·         Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

·         Work involves some irregularities and difficulties, repetitive and varied tasks,

·         Possible delivery driving duties

·         Primarily retail store setting, however, frequently exposed to dirt ,dust, fumes, temperature extremes, dampness and battery acid as is normal to warehouse environment in this business

·         Stress associated with workplace pressure and the retail environment.

·         Some overtime as necessary
