The Custodian Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of campus buildings, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the cleanliness of campus common areas and residential buildings according to assigned schedules.
• Utilize cleaning supplies and equipment to uphold a professional appearance of campus facilities.
• Follow the assigned cleaning checklist, which includes restroom sanitation, dusting and sanitizing furniture, cleaning windows, emptying trash receptacles, sweeping, mopping, buffing, and vacuuming floors, as well as shampooing carpets.
• Respond promptly to service calls for spills, minor repairs, or other cleaning needs.
• Assist with setting up classrooms, meeting spaces, and events as required.
• Inspect and restock areas to ensure readiness for daily activities.
• Monitor and report supply inventory needs.
• Adhere to PSU Safety Policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

Qualification Requirements :

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial cleaning or housekeeping.
• Strong professionalism and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Work Environment: Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather.
• Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Mobility: Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and the ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed.
• Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Vision Requirements: Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Travel: None.
