Salary: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour

Express Employment Professionals is seeking experienced Steel Fabricators to join a fast-paced, safety-focused manufacturing team. If you can read shop drawings, weld heavy steel with precision, and take pride in producing high-quality structural components, we want to talk to you!

Compensation: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Overtime may extend to 6:30 PM as needed)

Equipment: PPE provided (You will need to supply personal welding gear)

Job Overview: The Fabricator is responsible for adhering to all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe and productive working environment. This position interprets shop drawings and technical specifications, measures and cuts raw materials, and assembles structural steel components to exact standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication specifications
• Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel using hand and power tools
• Perform MIG, TIG, and GMAW welding on heavy steel components
• Operate plasma cutters, robotic welding equipment, overhead cranes, grinders, drills, and oxy-fuel torches
• Inspect fabricated parts for alignment, accuracy, and quality standards
• Conduct quality checks before final assembly
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to resolve fabrication challenges
• Maintain tools and report equipment malfunctions
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Follow all safety policies and manufacture best practices

Qualifications

•  2+ years of steel fabrication and welding experience
• Strong ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical documents
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and GMAW welding (heavy steel)
• Experience using plasma cutters and fabrication tools
• Strong math and measurement skills
• Pass background and drug screening
• Tape measure test
• Welding test (administered upon hire)
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly
• Ability to climb stairs and work in a physically demanding environment
• Comfortable working in heat, cold, noise, and exposure to fumes
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Team-oriented mindset with ability to meet deadlines
• Commitment to workplace safety
• Work in typical steel fabrication environmental conditions (heat, noise, fumes)
• Manual dexterity for precision welding and tool operation
