Our client located in Elgin, IL is looking for Maintenance Technicians!

In this position, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on recycling equipment including conveyors, balers, shredders, and facility machinery to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.

Pay: $24.00–$26.00/hr

Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (hours can be flexible)

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Troubleshoot and repair plant machinery including conveyors, balers, shredders, compactors, and motors
• Inspect equipment and complete maintenance logs or CMMS entries
• Replace belts, bearings, gearboxes, chains, sensors, and other mechanical components
• Assist with equipment upgrades and installations
• Perform basic electrical work (120V–480V) if trained
• Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, welders, and diagnostic equipment
• Respond to machine breakdowns to minimize downtime
• Perform basic facility maintenance (lighting, plumbing, general repairs)
• Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout

Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Experience with conveyors, hydraulics, or industrial equipment preferred
• Basic computer skills (maintenance tracking, logging repairs)
• Welding or electrical experience a plus
