Farmers Market Associates ($19 per hour + tips):
- Must be fluent in English
- Must have an outgoing personality
- Schedule requires a commitment to every weekend, starting at 5am on Saturdays, 8am on Sunday
Responsible for setting up attractive displays, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Enthusiasm for local food, and passion for community engagement to create a lively marketplace experience that keeps customers coming back!
Duties
•
Set up and organize market booth displays to highlight products effectively and attract customers
•
Engage with shoppers by providing product demos and sharing detailed information about offerings
•
Handle sales transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems, including cash handling and credit card processing
•
Maintain stock levels by merchandising products neatly, restocking as needed, and managing inventory efficiently
•
Conduct product demos to educate customers about the quality and benefits of items sold
Requirements
•
Previous experience in retail sales, grocery store operations, or similar customer-facing roles is preferred
•
Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with diverse customers in a friendly manner
•
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a broader community base
•
Demonstrated proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math for transactions
•
Knowledge of farmers market environments is advantageous
•
Supervising experience is beneficial for growth to leadership roles within the team
•
Excellent customer service skills to foster positive interactions
•
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting moderate loads
