Technician Manager Job Summary

A growing medical services organization in Grand Rapids, Michigan is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented technician manager to serves as the primary liaison between the site’s technicians, operations management, and leadership, maintaining workflow efficiency, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service quality. The Technician Manager oversees the daily operations and performance of the biomedical equipment service team, ensuring that all equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and calibrations meet Trace Medical’s quality, safety, and turnaround standards. This role combines direct technical work with leadership responsibilities, providing mentorship, scheduling, quality control, and hands-on technical expertise

Technician Manager Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support a team of Biomedical Equipment Technicians
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and other biomedical devices
• Assign daily work orders, monitor progress, and ensure turnaround targets are met
• Conduct quality checks and documentation reviews to maintain adherence to company SOPs and OEM standards
• Train and mentor new and existing technicians on company procedures, best practices, and safety standards
• Manage inventory levels, parts ordering, and coordination with the Purchasing team
• Support equipment audits, compliance checks, and safety reviews
• Collaborate with Operations leadership to identify process improvements
• Act as point of contact for escalated technical or workflow issues
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence

Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: Full-Time, Exempt
• Pay Range: $55,000-$60,000/YR.
• Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Technician Manager Qualifications Required:

• Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training required; bachelor’s preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in biomedical equipment repair or durable medical equipment service, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory role
• Strong working knowledge of ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and related respiratory equipment
• Proven leadership skills with ability to manage, train, and motivate technical staff
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with service documentation systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Occasional travel to other facilities for training or support
• Moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and routine use of tools and diagnostic equipment required.

Preferred:

• Experience in healthcare, medical device, or service-based industries
• Familiarity with equipment tracking, repair workflows, or billing-aligned operations
