A health-conscious consumer food production and packaging operation in Decatur, IL shipping to niche skin care retailers is looking for Maintenance Technician.

Maintenance Technicians play a critical role in ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient production operations. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and packaging equipment, as well as supporting facility upkeep and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving and taking ownership of equipment reliability. This person needs to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and take pride in minimizing equipment downtime and maximizing production efficiency.

 

Job Responsibilities for Maintenance Technician

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on production and packaging equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
• Respond quickly to production line breakdowns to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot PLC-controls and automated packaging equipment
• Inspect equipment to identify wear, damage, or safety concerns
• Install and setup new equipment
• Accurately maintain maintenance logs and other required documentation.
• Perform building and facility maintenance: lighting, plumbing, HVAC coordination, and general repairs
• Maintain spare parts inventory
• Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and audit-ready.
