Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Billing Specialist for a temporary 60-day contract position. This role will support our billing operations by ensuring accurate claim preparation, timely submission, payment posting, and resolution of billing discrepancies. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, experience with medical billing software, and an understanding of insurance claims and reimbursement processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit medical claims to insurance companies and third-party payers.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations when applicable.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims; work to resolve issues promptly.
• Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts.
• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Communicate with insurance representatives, patients, and internal staff to address billing inquiries.
• Identify billing errors, correct claim information, and resubmit as needed.
• Assist with audit preparation and reporting related to billing activities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in medical billing, healthcare revenue cycle, or related field (required).
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) and billing systems.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.

Pay $19 - 20/hr

Hours: flexible between 7:30am - 5pm
