1st Shift Heat Treat Operator

 

Our client, a leader in custom-engineered components, is seeking a Heat Treat Operator to join their growing team. In this role you would be responsible for operating and monitoring heat treatment equipment to process metal components according to precise specifications and ensuring parts meet required hardness, strength, and quality standards while maintaining safety and production efficiency. Hours for this position are Mon-Thurs 7AM-3:30PM and Fri 7AM-2:30PM and pay is $18-$19 per hour. Job Responsibilities:

• Load and unload metal parts into heat treat furnaces according to work orders and production schedules.

• Set up and operate heat treat ovens, furnaces, and quenching systems.

• Monitor temperature controls, time cycles, and atmosphere settings to ensure proper processing.

• Perform hardness testing and visual inspections to verify product quality.

• Record production data, temperatures, and cycle times accurately.

• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and carts to move parts.

• Maintain clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.

• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.

• Assist with preventative maintenance and report equipment issues to supervisors.

 

Job Qualifications:

• Previous heat treat or manufacturing experience preferred.

• Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and production documentation.

• Basic knowledge of metallurgy and heat treat processes (hardening, tempering, annealing preferred).

• Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and hardness testers.

• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
