Floor Supervisor – Manufacturing / Production

Location: Etobicoke, ON
Salary: $70,000?–?$80,000 per year + 3% pension contribution and many perks

Role Overview:
The Floor Supervisor leads daily production activities to ensure people, processes, and equipment deliver quality products safely and efficiently. You partner with other leaders to keep operations running smoothly while supporting your team’s development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily safety huddles and communicate safety alerts.
  • Assign tasks, verify attendance, and manage workflow to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect work areas and equipment for safety and quality compliance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized production floor.
  • Record inspection and maintenance information in production software.
  • Coach employees, address attendance/behavior concerns and escalate when needed.
  • Support scheduling, staffing, and troubleshoot issues quickly.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma; post-secondary in Operations/Manufacturing is an asset.
  • 3–5 years in manufacturing/industrial settings with supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing schedules, staffing, and workflow.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience leading safety meetings, incident reporting, and investigations.
  • Experience with production/ERP software is an asset.
  • Forklift or overhead crane certification/training is an asset.
  • Flexible to work shifts and occasional overtime.

Skills:

  • Excellent people skills with experience in coaching and employee relations.
  • Clear communication and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Commitment to safety, team accountability, and quality standards.
  • Adaptable to changing production needs.
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new software.

Working Conditions:

  • Indoor, climate-controlled environment.
  • Physical demands: standing and walking for extended periods.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Safety: follow procedures, report hazards or incidents immediately.
  • Attendance: punctual and reliable per shift schedule.
  • Quality: correct packaging, accurate measurements, and reporting quality issues.
