Key Responsibilities

• Greet, room, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures

• Obtain and document vital signs and detailed medical histories

• Assist providers during exams and minor in-office surgical procedures

• Perform suture removal as directed

• Administer medications or injections per provider orders (no IV experience required)

• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens; perform basic lab testing as needed

• Maintain accurate charting within EMR systems, including ModMed (EMA)

• Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and verify insurance

• Provide clear patient education on procedures, medications, and follow-up care

• Clean, sterilize, and prepare instruments; maintain exam rooms and supplies

• Adhere strictly to OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program

• Prior Medical Assistant experience required

• Experience with ModMed (EMA) strongly preferred

• Current CPR/BLS certification

• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills

• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer applications

• Must be bilingual in Spanish (written and spoken)

• Previous experience in a surgical, vascular, cardiovascular, or other specialty practice

• Wound care experience is a significant plus
