Overview: The Line Cook is a vital member of the culinary team, responsible for preparing high-quality, consistent, and timely food orders. This role requires precision, speed, and a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, ensuring every dish meets the resort's standards of excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation and Cooking:

    • Set up and stock food items and all necessary supplies for a specific kitchen station (e.g., grill, sauté, fryer, pantry).

    • Efficiently and accurately prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications established by the Chef.

    • Use a variety of kitchen equipment and utensils, including grills, fryers, ovens, and knives, with skill and safety.
    • Assist with the preparation of ingredients before and during service, including washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning.
  • Safety and Sanitation:

    • Adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling, temperature control, and storage.

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station throughout the shift.

    • Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces, utensils, and equipment at the end of each shift.

    • Communicate effectively with the entire kitchen team, including other line cooks, prep cooks, and management, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.

    • Coordinate with other team members to ensure all elements of a dish are prepared and plated simultaneously.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

  • English and Spanish is a plus but not a requirement
