Overview: The Line Cook is a vital member of the culinary team, responsible for preparing high-quality, consistent, and timely food orders. This role requires precision, speed, and a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, ensuring every dish meets the resort's standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Cooking:
Set up and stock food items and all necessary supplies for a specific kitchen station (e.g., grill, sauté, fryer, pantry).
Efficiently and accurately prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications established by the Chef.
Safety and Sanitation:
Adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling, temperature control, and storage.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station throughout the shift.
Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces, utensils, and equipment at the end of each shift.
Communicate effectively with the entire kitchen team, including other line cooks, prep cooks, and management, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
Coordinate with other team members to ensure all elements of a dish are prepared and plated simultaneously.
Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
