Location: Roberts, Idaho
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $20/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)

Position Summary

We are hiring an experienced, detail-oriented technician responsible for vehicle restoration and custom autobody work. This role includes metal fabrication, panel replacement, rust repair, paint preparation, finishing, and precision fitment of custom components to restore, modify, or build classic and modern vehicles to client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage and restoration needs; provide input on repair methods and time estimates

• Strip vehicles to bare metal when required; remove rust, old paint, adhesives, and contaminants

• Repair or replace panels including floor pans, fenders, quarter panels, rocker panels, and structural components using MIG welding and proper metalworking techniques

• Fabricate custom metal parts, patch panels, brackets, and mounts

• Perform body straightening, frame alignment checks, and structural repairs

• Prep surfaces for paint including sanding, block sanding, filler application, feathering seams, and seam sealing

• Fit and align doors, hoods, trunk lids, bumpers, and trim to correct gaps and tolerances

• Install custom components accurately and safely

• Maintain accurate work logs and documentation

• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area

• Perform quality control checks and final inspections prior to delivery

Required Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in automotive body repair, restoration, or custom fabrication (or equivalent training/apprenticeship)

• Proficient MIG welding skills; TIG experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of autobody systems, panel alignment, and restoration techniques

• Experience using body shop tools and metalworking equipment

• Ability to read technical drawings and instructions

• Valid driver’s license

• Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship

Working Conditions

• Shop environment with exposure to dust, paint, solvents, noise, and varying temperatures

• Frequent standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working in confined spaces

• PPE required

• Must arrive on time and ready to work
