SANITATION OPERATOR (DAY SHIFT)

 

Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Sanitation Operator to support plant sanitation and food safety operations. This role is responsible for detailed drain cleaning and maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant production environment.

 

Position Summary

The Sanitation Operator performs detailed drain cleaning and other sanitation duties throughout the facility. This position requires strong attention to detail and adherence to safety, GMP, and food safety standards. The Sanitation Operator reports directly to the Sanitation Engineer and may also receive direction from the Quality Engineer or other management personnel as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and follow all plant safety, GMP, food safety, and company policies
• Perform detailed sanitation on equipment, infrastructure, drains, grounds, and assigned areas
• Follow the Master Sanitation Schedule for drain cleaning and other sanitation tasks
• Identify and report equipment failures or process issues to the Supervisor
• Communicate and interact respectfully and effectively with coworkers and management
• Maintain cleanliness and compliance in all assigned areas
• Complete additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma OR minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar sanitation role
• Ability to follow written, verbal, diagram, and scheduled instructions
• Strong troubleshooting, reasoning, and decision-making skills
• Ability to use common sense and sound judgment in daily tasks
• Reliable, accountable, and proactive work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Hours

• 8-hour shifts
• Start time: 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM

Pay

• $20.00/hour
