Welder/Fabricator

Location: Newington, CT

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 am to 2:30/3:30 pm and Friday, 6:30 am to 1 pm

Pay rate: $26-33/hr

 

Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG welding on a variety of materials to precise specifications, in compliance with written procedures
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and welding symbols
• Conduct in-process inspections and ensure quality standards are met.
• Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, fitting, and tracking components, and perform proper job set ups
• Ability to set up welder equipment/torch and maintain flow rates

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, technical training and TIG welding certification required
• At least 2-4 years of experience in TIG Welding, in an aerospace manufacturing or precision machining environment
• Experience working with aerospace alloys including aluminum, stainless steel and titanium
• Proficiency in shop math, be able to accurately read operation sheets, blueprints and technical drawings
• Ability to pass welding certification to aerospace standards
• Must be able to perform fabrication of metal components on a project from start to finish
