DZ Delivery Driver

Salary: $28.50

Our client, located in the East End, is currently looking to fill a DZ Driver position on a 1–2 month contract. To be considered, candidates must hold a valid DZ license, a clean criminal record, and a clean driving abstract.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Must have valid DZ drivers’ license in good standing
• 2+ years previous experience with delivery driving required
• Prior warehouse experience is a strong asset
• Must be willing and able to frequently lift and/or move items ranging in weight from 25-50lbs
• Must be willing and able to occasionally push, pull, or move items exceeding 50lbs
• Must possesses the ability to communicate very effectively in English (read, write, speak)
• Must have strong customer service skills, with previous customer service experience an asset
• Should be able to work with minimal supervision, be self-starting, and able to identify the "next task" without direction
• Forklift or related material handling equipment experience is an asset
• Ability to follow processes and adhere to all safety standards (WHMIS & TDG)
• TDG certification will be provided by the organization on the first day of employment.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Safely operate a straight truck to deliver merchandise to various client sites across the Ottawa region
• Lift and handle up to 50 lbs to load and unload new and scrap products (hand bombing)
• Utilize manual or electric pallet jacks to move and unload pallets for large orders
• Load spent batteries by hand, weighing 25–50 lbs
• Perform duties in all weather conditions
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Salary: $28.50 per hour. Overtime paid after 44 hours worked per week.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm
