The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes and systems. This role bridges engineering and production by assisting in equipment setup, process documentation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing.

 

Main Job Duties:

·         Assist engineers in developing, testing, and implementing manufacturing processes.

·         Prepare and update work instructions, process flow diagrams, and technical documentation.

·         Collect and analyze data on production metrics such as downtime, scrap, and cycle times.

·         Participate in process improvement initiatives such as 5S or Lean activities.

·         Support the setup and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and fixtures.

·         Troubleshoot machinery and provide technical support to operators and maintenance teams.

·         Assist in designing and fabricating jigs, fixtures, and tooling as needed.

·         Communicate effectively with production staff, especially Spanish-speaking operators, to understand issues and relay process updates.

·         Support new product introductions (NPI) by assisting with process trials, documentation, and initial production runs.

·         Train production operators on new processes and equipment when needed.

 

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Associate’s degree or technical certification in manufacturing technology, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred by not required.

 Experience:

0-1  year of experience in manufacturing or technical support role

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

·         0-1 year of experience in manufacturing or technical support role.

·         Basic understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.

·         Ability to work collaboratively within the team & have good communication skills.

·         Able to use standard measuring tools/equipment, hand tools, etc.

·         Basic computer skills, word processing, presentation software and spreadsheets

·         Provide own mode of transportation.

 

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

·         Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Skills sets, including mechanical drafting and 3D modeling. Knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus.

·         Knowledge in sheet metal fabrication, punching, CNC, forming, and associated tooling is a plus.

·         Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S practices is a plus.
