Industrial Controls Electrician Location: Wadesboro, NC Pay: $30/hour Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Industrial Controls Electrician to support plant operations by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading industrial electrical and control systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe and efficient production. In addition to electrical work, this position may assist with general equipment repairs as needed. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade industrial electrical and control systems Diagnose and resolve electrical, PLC, VFD, and automation-related issues to reduce downtime Perform PLC troubleshooting, modifications, and basic programming as needed Support robotic systems troubleshooting and coordinate with technical support when required Operate and test automated machinery to verify proper operation and confirm repairs Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and control systems Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation Ensure all work complies with NEC standards and internal safety policies Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to support production goals Respond to equipment failures, including returning after hours for emergency breakdowns when required Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, updates, and maintenance activities Assist with non-electrical equipment repairs as needed Keep work areas, panels, and equipment clean, organized, and properly labeled Follow all safety protocols and actively contribute to a safe work environment Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills & Technical Expertise Strong PLC knowledge and hands-on experience, including: Allen-Bradley RSLogix Studio 5000 Siemens Simatic Manager TIA Portal Experience working with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Computer-based troubleshooting of PLCs, VFDs, and automation systems Familiarity with industrial robotics and robotic troubleshooting Experience contacting and working with OEM technical support (robotics, drives, controls, etc.) Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) Proficient with multimeters, diagnostic tools, and standard hand tools Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues independently Strong communication skills with management and team members Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, climb, and kneel throughout the shift Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working around industrial machinery and electrical systems General Expectations Maintain regular and reliable attendance Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety for yourself and others Take ownership of facility and equipment appearance and upkeep Work effectively as part of a team and follow direction from site leadership Be open to change and actively support continuous improvement initiatives #3071ST
