Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently seeking a reliable and hard-working Shipping Clerk for a local client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a crucial role in the rental operations team, ensuring that every order is processed accurately and efficiently. This role involves hands-on work with specialized equipment, precise inventory management, and delivering a smooth, customer-focused experience. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Prepare, package, and label all outgoing materials in accordance with company standards
• Create and process shipping documentation (packing slips, bills of lading, shipping labels, etc.)
• Schedule pickups and coordinate with shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL freight)
• Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against order documentation
• Maintain a clean and organized shipping area
• Assist with receiving operations when needed
• Operate pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment
• Enter shipment data into the company system and maintain accurate records
• Communicate with internal departments regarding order status or inventory issues
• Other tasks may be needed. 

 

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.
• A customer-first mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
• 1+ year experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics roles
• Basic computer proficiency (shipping software, email, data entry)
• Organized, dependable, and comfortable in a fast-paced warehouse/rental environment

Work Environment and Attire: 

• Pants and closed-toe shoes required.
• Company-provided shirts and PPE for safety and comfort.
