Busy steel fabrication company in Crystal Lake, IL is seeking multi-machine operators - mechanized welding to join their 2nd team. This is a long-term, permanent position with a well-respected, established company. This company offers room for growth and advancement by promoting from within.

 

Multi-Machine Operator Responsibilities:

• Perform duties to heat treat, quench and temper material in accordance with specifications.
• Work from job schedule to determine material requirements, locate material and arrange for material to be moved by crane to furnace area.
• Make furnace temperature settings and adjust roller conveyor speed as specified. Load material on austinizing furnace feed roll, monitor furnace operation for proper temperatures, times and speeds.
• Maintain and monitor quench tank temperatures, speeds and times for proper operation.
• Submit first bar to Quality Control to ensure bar meets specification and for necessary furnace adjustments for tempering. Load and temper material as required. Maintain identity of material in process. Move treated material to next scheduled operation.
• Maintain furnace report records. Perform SPC procedures as specified.
• Relight furnaces as necessary, make minor burn adjustments. Check quench tank for scale. Clean quench slots. Use bar turner and banding equipment.

Multi-Machine Operator Qualifications:

• Forklift or heavy manufacturing experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

 

Hours: Monday - Friday | 4 PM - midnight

Pay: $18.50-19.50/hr
