Contract Woodworker
Located in Sarnia, ON
Salary: $25.00/Hour
We are seeking a dedicated Contract Woodworker to join our construction and restoration team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of carpentry, fabrication, and construction techniques, with the ability to execute precise woodworking projects on a contractual basis. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including remodeling, restoration, custom fabrication, and installation tasks across various settings. The Contract Woodworker will play a vital role in delivering high-quality craftsmanship while adhering to safety standards and project timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute woodworking and fabrication tasks
- Construct, install, and repair structures such as cabinetry, doors, siding, fixtures, and framing components using hand tools and power tools
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Collaborate with project managers to estimate construction costs and timeframes based on schematics and project specifications
- Handle heavy lifting safely during material transport and installation processes
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in carpentry disciplines include trim carpentry, frame carpentry, metal stud framing, cabinet installation, door hanging, and roofing
- Proficiency with hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, saws)
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction drawings, and schematics for accurate project execution
- Knowledge of construction estimating practices to assist in project planning and resource allocation
- Familiarity with various construction materials such as wood, metal studs, concrete forms, stucco materials, siding products, tiles, flooring materials, drywall compounds (plastering), and insulation
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining precision in detailed work
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to project challenges
Wage: $25.00/Hour
