Distribution Warehouse Helper

Role Overview
A distribution warehouse unloading position is a hands-on role in the logistics and supply chain sector, focused on receiving goods from delivery vehicles and preparing them for storage, sorting, or shipment. This role is essential for keeping warehouse operations running smoothly and ensuring accurate inventory flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading & Unloading Goods: Load and unload shipments from trucks, trailers, or aircraft, verifying contents against shipping documents 
• Material Handling: Move, stack, and organize goods on pallets or in crates, following inventory control instructions
• Inventory Management: Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming stock; perform cycle counts and report discrepancies 
• Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other warehouse equipment safely
• Quality Checks: Inspect products for damage or non-conformance and isolate defective items 
• Workspace Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations 
• Coordination: Work with warehouse staff to place goods in the correct storage areas and support picking/loading of outgoing shipments
• Documentation: Complete daily logs, reports, and update inventory records as needed 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy loads (often 50–100 lbs or more) 
• Attention to Detail: Ensure accurate loading/unloading and proper labeling 
• Organizational Skills: Manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment 
• Equipment Proficiency: Forklift or pallet jack experience preferred 
• Basic Math & Reading: For reading shipping labels, invoices, and inventory records 
• Safety Awareness: Follow all warehouse safety protocols and regulations 
• Teamwork: Collaborate with supervisors and coworkers to meet operational goals
