Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Lead Adult Day Program Support Staff member to oversee and assist individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring specialized care. This role involves providing direct support in a community-based setting, ensuring safety, promoting independence, and enhancing the quality of life for participants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare, caregiving, and social services, with a focus on person-centered care. The ideal candidate will have prior management experience and at least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities. Strong leadership skills, professionalism, reliability, and the ability to support and supervise staff in a day support setting are essential.

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Lead Support Staff member for our daytime drop-off program serving older adults and adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. This is a non-medical role focused on supervision, engagement, daily support, and creating a safe, welcoming environment.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping adults remain active, social, and supported in a structured day setting

Duties

  • Supervise participants in a daytime group setting
  • Lead and assist with activities such as games, crafts, music, and social interaction
  • Provide encouragement and support with daily routines (meals, restroom reminders, transitions)
  • Assist with mobility and safety as needed (non-medical)
  • Maintain a calm, respectful, and inclusive environment
  • Communicate with families and caregivers regarding daily participation
  • Serve as the lead staff member, supporting and guiding other team members

Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of prior management experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia or Alzheimer's disease highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate attitude with patience for working with seniors or individuals with complex needs.
  • Background check and drug test required prior to employment.
