Outside Sales Representative

Salary: 55,000

ROLE DESCRIPTION: The role of this position is to sell products and services to contractors in the Golden Triangle Region with a focus on meeting sales and profitability goals. This position requires employee to establish strong relationships with new customers while maintaining existing customers through meeting their needs and expectations. This position requires close cooperation and interaction with the in-store and yard staff. Travel for this position is estimated at 30%.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Needed:
High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. At least 3 years' experience in lumber and building materials or a related industry; experience in building material sales preferred. Strong team working ability as well as ability to self-motivate and think critically to problem solve. Highly teachable and strong desire to grow and advance their career. Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to work with confidential information. Exceptional Organizational skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to operate a vehicle. Basic knowledge of building codes and their effect on the construction process.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build relationships with prospective customers, creating a network of clients. Grow management targeted "In House" accounts Respond to inquiries quickly and accurately. Utilize and maintain required company documents for each project. Make cold calls to prospective customers to schedule meetings. Follow sales leads by scheduling appointments with prospective customers. Provide solutions to customers should a service need arise. Provide training to customers and their teams on various product lines and services. Ongoing education of new products and markets within the industry. Maintain a good knowledge of products that the company sells. Learn all company's operational procedures to process orders and serve customers. Represent the company industry functions and make formal presentations as needed.

 

Pay rate: $55,000
