🎯 Position Overview
We are seeking a Color Manufacturing Technician to join our team. This role combines manufacturing, product compounding, color matching, formulation, and quality control to produce products that meet customer specifications and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment and possesses a strong artistic eye for color. Success in this role requires the ability to accurately match colors, develop formulations using pigments, and maintain consistency across multiple product lines.
🛠 Responsibilities
A strong eye for color is essential. Responsibilities include:
• Precise color matching using a wide range of pigments and colorants
• Translating visual inspiration into accurate product formulations
• Applying color theory principles to achieve customer specifications
• Ensuring consistency across multiple product types and production batches
• Working within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
Additional Responsibilities
• Adjust viscosity during the manufacturing process
• Perform cure-thickness testing and product verification
• Complete quality control (QC) evaluations on all compounded and manufactured products
• Follow formulas, SOPs, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation
• Collaborate with technicians and production team members to achieve production goals
• Maintain consistency and accuracy in custom color development

• Prior experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
• Demonstrated artistic background (professional or personal)
• Exceptional ability to perceive, distinguish, and interpret color variations
• Strong understanding of color theory and color matching
• Strong math skills and logical reasoning abilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a manufacturing team
• Ability to read and follow precise instructions, formularies, SOPs, and manuals
• Open to feedback and continuous improvement
• Ability to work efficiently under occasional time-sensitive production conditions
🎓 Qualifications
• Experience working closely with other technicians to achieve production outcomes
• Strong eye for color and understanding of color theory principles
• Experience or aptitude for product compounding, formulation, and quality control processes
• Ability to manage occasional production deadlines while maintaining quality standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; confident computer navigation
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
💼 Compensation & Benefits
• Starting wage: $22-$27/hr, based on experience
• First performance review at 3 months; annual reviews thereafter
