We have an opening for a Landscaper position working at a county water and sewer authority based in Athens, AL. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.

 

*** CANDIDATE MUST BE WILLING TO WORK OUTDOORS IN EXTREME HEAT OR COLD ***

 

Skills/Qualifications

Previous landscaping or ground maintenance is preferred.

Must be gifted in the art of raking and shoveling.

Must be capable of working an entire work week on a consistent basis.

Ability to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions.

Ability to lift 50 lb. unassisted.

Punctuality and dependability.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

Assist utility workers as necessary in the regularly scheduled maintenance or emergency repair of water and sewer lines, and related infrastructure.

Primarily responsible for assisting a heavy equipment operator to dig holes necessary to expose underground water and sewer lines.

Repair holes by backfilling with topsoil, grading to match the surrounding area, seeding, then applying straw or erosion control blankets.

Performs clean-up duties at the job site.

Help load/unload materials and supplies to/from the job site.

Help maintain equipment and tools used on the job site.

Performs other general labor duties as necessary.
