Express Employment Professionals is hiring a skilled Upholsterer / Fabric Cutter for a full-time, 1st shift position in a production environment. This role requires a high level of precision, material knowledge, and the ability to independently lay out and cut upholstery fabrics accurately.

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented professional with hands-on experience cutting upholstery fabric and leather, matching patterns, and maximizing material yield.

Responsibilities

As an Upholsterer / Fabric Cutter, your responsibilities will include:

Independently and accurately arranging, marking, and cutting fabric patterns.
Identifying fabric flaws and maximizing material yield to reduce waste.
Hand cutting single, matched, and lay-cut materials.
Cutting upholstery fabrics and leather according to specifications.
Performing two-way, match, and flow matching of patterns.
Using and operating an Eastman knife for precision cutting.
Hand drawing patterns when needed to ensure proper alignment and matching.
Efficiently laying out patterns to maintain consistency and accuracy.
Working independently while also cooperating with a small production team.
Maintaining an organized and safe cutting area.

Requirements

Hand cutting experience required (upholstery or similar environment).
Experience marking and cutting leather and patterned materials.
Strong knowledge of pattern matching and flow alignment.
Experience using an Eastman knife required.
Ability to identify defects and minimize material waste.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not required.
Reliable attendance and consistent work history preferred.

Skills & Qualifications

Upholstery fabric and leather cutting experience.
Pattern drafting and hand-drawing ability.
Efficient material layout planning.
Strong understanding of fabric grain, pattern repeat, and flow.
Ability to maintain production pace while ensuring quality.
Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.

Shifts & Hours

1st Shift, Full-Time
Monday – Friday
Overtime may be available based on production needs

Pay & Benefits

$18.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience.
Weekly pay through Express Employment Professionals.
