Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a mechanically inclined and physically capable Delivery Helper/Warehouse Associate to join our client's team in Clackamas. This is a highly physical, hands-on position involving frequent heavy lifting, equipment assembly, warehouse duties, and delivery assistance.
This position requires someone who is comfortable performing heavy physical work throughout the day and has the mechanical aptitude to assemble and work with fitness equipment and machinery. Candidates must also have a valid driver's license and clean Motor Vehicle Record, as this position is expected to eventually operate company vehicles and assist with deliveries independently.
Job Description
The Delivery Helper/Warehouse Associate will split time between warehouse operations and customer delivery/installations. Responsibilities include loading and unloading heavy equipment, assembling fitness equipment using hand and power tools, maintaining warehouse inventory, inspecting equipment, and assisting with deliveries to customer locations.
This is a very heavy lifting position. While larger equipment will be team-lifted, individual components can weigh up to 75 lbs, and lifting is performed repeatedly throughout the workday.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload heavy fitness equipment, machines, and individual components weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Assist with deliveries and installation of equipment at customer and homeowner locations.
- Safely and efficiently load company vehicles with equipment and materials for transport.
- Assemble fitness equipment and machinery according to manufacturer manuals and specifications.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively during equipment assembly and installation.
- Inspect prebuilt equipment before leaving the warehouse to ensure quality and proper operation.
- Maintain and clean equipment to ensure it remains in excellent working condition.
- Retrieve and complete daily paperwork, including delivery schedules and maintenance logs.
- Receive incoming merchandise and accurately check items into inventory.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Provide customers with basic instructions regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
- Interact professionally with customers and homeowners while completing deliveries and installations.
- Learn company delivery procedures with the expectation of eventually operating company vehicles.
- Follow all company safety procedures while handling, assembling, transporting, and installing equipment.
Experience & Qualifications
- Must be physically capable of repeatedly lifting up to 75 lbs throughout the workday.
- Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
- Comfortable assembling fitness equipment, machines, or similar mechanical products.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and follow assembly manuals and detailed instructions.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record required.
- Must be comfortable driving and able to eventually operate company delivery vehicles.
- Previous warehouse, delivery, installation, assembly, moving, construction, or other physically demanding experience is preferred.
- Ability to safely perform repetitive lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, and equipment assembly.
- Willingness to learn new equipment, tools, and job responsibilities.
