CNC Prototrak Operator $20-$27/hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Precision CNC Machinist proficient on the Prototrak K3 DPM5 to join our team. In this role, you will program, set up, and operate a Prototrak K3 DPM5 to produce high-quality parts that meet exact specifications. Our shop specializes in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing, serving diverse industries. No cookie cutter work here. You’ll take on a variety of materials, part sizes, and geometries – with no assembly line monotony. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to grow your skills.

What You’ll Do:

• Set up and operate a Prototrak K3 DPM5, including tool and fixture offsets
• Perform basic CNC programming and edit existing programs as needed
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and tool holders
• Use print specifications to hold tolerances of +/- 0.005 or tighter as required.
• Adjust tooling and offsets to ensure parts meet print requirements and improve cycle times
• Apply knowledge of speeds, feeds, and depths of cut for various materials
• Follow job routings, setup sheets, and established sequences of operations
• Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, and other inspection equipment
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve machining or quality issues

Job Requirements:

• Prototrak experience required
• Understanding concepts of speeds & feeds as they apply to different material types
• Strong working knowledge of tooling setups, fixturing, and conversational code programming
• Strong mathematical skills for basic calculations related to machining operations
• Read blueprints to determine specifications and requirements necessary to machine a quality part
• Be detailed oriented
• Able to take initiative without frequent direction and oversight
• Be able to stand, push, pull, reach overhead, and lift between 10-50lbs frequently
