MIG Welder 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $16–$18 per hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

The MIG Welder is responsible for producing high-quality welds, fabricating metal components, and repairing or reconstructing metal parts using various welding processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow diagrams and sketches, and experience working with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, reliable, and skilled in multiple welding techniques.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Produce metal forms, components, and finished objects according to specifications.

• Reconstruct and repair damaged articles made from various metals and alloys.

• Perform small welding jobs using hand tools, fixtures, jigs, and clamps.

• Cut, shape, and prepare metal using torch-cutting equipment.

• Read and follow diagrams, sketches, and basic blueprints to complete welding tasks.

• Weld and fuse metals to meet strength, durability, and structural requirements while minimizing distortion.

• Set up, adjust, and regulate welding equipment based on job requirements.

• Utilize a variety of welding processes, including:

  • MIG (Metal Inert Gas)

  • GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding)

  • TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)

  • SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)

  • FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding)

  • MAG (Metal Active Gas)

  • Gas-shielded flux-cored methods

Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in MIG welding with the ability to produce clean, strong welds.

• Experience with additional welding processes (TIG, Stick, Flux-Core) preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, sketches, and basic blueprints.

• Strong metal fabrication skills, including cutting, grinding, and fitting.

• Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools and basic power tools.

• Ability to lift, move, and position materials as needed.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
