About the Role:

The AR/AP Accountant is responsible for managing day‑to‑day financial transactions related to billing, collections, vendor payments, and account reconciliation. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on time

  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts

  • Apply customer payments and reconcile AR accounts

  • Resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries

  • Maintain up‑to‑date customer records and credit information

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices

  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts

  • Prepare weekly or monthly payment runs (cheques, EFT, ACH)

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

  • Maintain accurate AP files and vendor records

General Accounting Duties:

  • Assist with month‑end closing activities

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Support audits by providing documentation and reports

  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting as needed

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 2–4 years of AR/AP or general accounting experience

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles

  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Sage, etc.)

  • Strong Excel and data‑entry skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Analytical mindset with good numerical ability
