Job Title: Technical Support Chemist 

Location: Sparks, MD

Schedule: Full-Time, In-Person 

Hours:  Monday – Friday

Pay Range:  $20-$25/hr.  

Position Summary: 

The Technical Support Chemist will serve as the subject matter expert on all Chemical products (kits and reagents), addressing technical inquiries, troubleshooting product-use issues, and delivering clear and effective support solutions to customers. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Serve as the point of contact for consumers of the client's chemicals.

• Answer telephone calls and emails from customers who have questions, concerns, or feedback.

• Assist other departments (Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, etc.) with technical matters.

• Log all incoming and outgoing calls and emails within the daily call log and manage follow-ups accordingly.

• Prepare chemical batches and standard solutions using analytical methods.

• Maintain an accurate and complete laboratory notebook for benchwork.

• Ensure a safe and compliant working environment during all laboratory experiments.

• Recognize and investigate unusual test results related to product performance by reproducing conditions through lab recreation experiments.

• Use internal support documentation and identify opportunities for updates or new resource materials as needed.

Qualifications: 

• MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORTATION

• 2+ years of experience in a chemistry laboratory environment.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal communication.

• Positive and cheerful disposition, patience in dealing with “beginners”, positive attitude, and a willingness to help

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Demonstrate good laboratory technique 

• Dependable and punctual with a positive attitude 

Preferred:

• BS degree in Chemistry, biology, or related field.

• 2+ years of work experience in a technical environment

• Familiarity with the swimming pool and hot tub industry
